In our eyes, our dad Graham was invincible, and his sudden death on Tuesday 6th July 2021 came as a complete shock to everyone that knew him.

At the age of 17, he left home to pursue a career in the RAF. In his 24 years of service, our dad travelled the world, completing multiple tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and was fortunate to have been posted to some incredible places such as Las Vegas, Cyprus and Germany. During this time, he met some extraordinary people, and most importantly the love of his life, our mam Elaine. They shared 27 wonderful years of marriage and raised four beautiful children (the clear favourite being Ellie … the dog). In 2011, our dad left the RAF having achieved the rank of Flight Sergeant, something we are incredibly proud of. After leaving the RAF, he continued to flourish, working incredibly hard and providing the perfect life for his family.

Help for Heroes is a charity that was strongly supported by our dad. He would always wear his Help for Heroes wristband and he completed a ‘Beat the Dog’ challenge in Afghanistan to raise money for the charity. Although our dad never required the services of Help for Heroes, he recognised the importance of the charity for others.

Kind, ambitious, intelligent and strong are all words that come to mind when we think about our dad and those who were lucky enough to have met him know how truly amazing he was.

Our dad always has been and always will be our hero.
