Margaret Gunshon
A cause close to Margaret's heart was FEPOW (Far East Prisoners of War) association.
Margaret's beloved Father Noel Edwards was captured by the Japanese when Singapore fell in 1942, he remained a POW until August 1945. Japanese prisoners of war were treated dreadfully and were known as the "Forgotten Army."
After the war Noel was actively involved with the FEPOW association and Margaret continued her support with the organisation long after Noel's death in 1979. Her kindness and dedication towards them was felt throughout the FEPOW community.
When faced with her cancer diagnosis in April 2021, Margaret reflected on her Father's experiences and was able to gain the strength and courage she needed to undergo treatment. Noel was Margaret's inspiration and her hero. For this reason we have chosen Help For Heroes as a charity to raise money in Margaret's memory.
