Robbie Laws
Rob was fun loving and always making us smile and laugh. He loved to see people happy. He was good, caring , loyal and totally unselfish.
Rob was a Bromsgrove lad born and bred. He grew up with many diverse interests, Barracuda swimming, Hanbury FC, Bromsgrove Sporting (then the Rovers) as a ball boy, music clubs, karate, you name it, he tried it! And so as a result made many friends. He loved school (as a social event!) loved his mates, his girls, and his family with great loyalty.
Rob was just 18yrs old when he was killed in Afghanistan on 4th July 2009 whilst serving with the 2nd Mercian Regt. He joined the Army at 16 at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate and absolutely loved it. He overcame many obstacles to achieve his dream, and was known as the Morale Machine when his sense of humour and perseverance kept everyone going when times were tough. His cheeky smile, deep booming laugh and his whistle were legendary. As a young boy all he ever wanted to do was make a difference in the world when he grew up. He did that and not many of us can say that even if we live to be 140!
This page is set up to continue his dream by raising money for those brave servicemen who find themselves in need of some care or support simply by serving their country.
This way his dream and his name will live on and help others.
