Stephen Beck
Dad (Stephen) was an incredibly passionate individual and will be remembered by all for his wonderfully positive energy and outlook on life.
After a short battle with cancer, Stephen passed away peacefully at home. The news came as such a shock to everyone given how super fit and well he was in life; not just a former Royal Commando Engineer but an age-group Team GB triathlete, too. The memories that remain today will, for everyone, involve him up and about on his feet with a huge, infectious smile on his face.
His loss has been a stark reminder that life doesn't always reward us for our lifestyle and choices; that we'll all have our share of good and bad luck. Even heroes like Stephen.
His life in the army was always a time he spoke of fondly. He prided himself on the unique experience and learnings he took from the forces into his civilian life afterwards, as well as the amazing people he had the pleasure of meeting.
We've chosen Help for Heroes as a charity supported through various challenges he took part in with colleagues, friends and family. Raising money for this charity in any way - whatever the challenge - would be something he'd throw himself into 100% with that energy he was so well known for, so what better way to honour that than to support on his behalf?
Whether it's a simple donation or the kind of epic fundraising adventure he'd love, please feel free to share your own memories or words for Stephen on the page.
