What we do and how your donations will help

Help for Heroes provides life-changing recovery and support services for wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans. No matter when or where someone served, or how long they were in uniform, we give our Heroes and their families the tools and help they need to rebuild their lives.

None of this would be possible without our amazing friends like you. 97% of our funding comes from the great British public; demonstrating how kind and committed you are to the wellbeing of our wounded heroes.

So far we’ve helped more than 26,000 service personnel and veterans but we know thousands more are struggling to deal with the long-term effects of their experiences. We’re determined to reach those who haven’t come forward and your Hero Fund can help us to do that – all in your loved one’s name and memory.

Thanks to amazing friends like you, our specialist staff provide a wide range of services; including one-to-one clinical care, specialist equipment, adaptive sports, welfare grants, housing and benefits advice, psychological wellbeing therapies, and free and confidential counselling to Veterans and families living with anxiety, depression, stress, anger or alcohol problems.

We also help the families and carers who support our Heroes by offering family days, respite breaks and access to our supportive Fellowship, Activities and Sports network, so we can help them to understand and adapt to their loved one’s condition.

Our services are delivered face to face in people's homes and safe community settings, at our War Injuries Clinic, online and over the phone. In this way, we can reach as many veterans and families as possible - no matter where they live and what mobility or travel challenges they face, and fitting around people's work, caring and other responsibilities.

Recovery is about more than repairing damaged bodies and minds; it’s about rebuilding lives and relationships, restoring confidence and renewing hope. You can give our wounded veterans a second chance at life.
