What we do and how your donations will help
Help for Heroes provides life-changing recovery and support services for military personnel and veterans, and their families. No matter when or where someone served, or how long they spent in uniform, we give members of the Armed Forces community the help and tools they need to rebuild their lives.
None of this would be possible without amazing friends like you who share our commitment to the brave and selfless individuals who put their lives on the line for us.
97% of our funding comes from the great British public, and every donation makes a world of difference to our heroes and their families.
So far we’ve helped more than 30,000 veterans but we know thousands more are struggling to deal with the long-term effects of their service. We’re determined to reach as many people as we can and you can help us do that – all in your loved one’s name and memory.
With your help our specialist staff can provide a wide range of services including one-to-one clinical care, occupational therapy and physio; psychological wellbeing therapies and free and confidential counselling; specialist equipment and housing adaptations; adaptive sports; welfare grants; and housing and benefits advice.
We also help families and carers through family days, respite breaks, our Hidden Wounds counselling service and access to our nationwide Sport, Activities and Fellowship network.
Our services are delivered face to face in people's homes and communities, at our War Injuries Clinic, online and over the phone. In this way we can reach as many veterans and families as possible.
Recovery is about more than repairing damaged bodies and minds; it’s about rebuilding lives and relationships, restoring confidence and renewing hope. Through your hero fund, you can give veterans a second chance at life - and all in the name and memory of your very own hero.
