Matilda Gaynor Bright
Matilda was a wife, mother, grandmother and Great Grandmother who enjoyed life despite her disabilities.
Mum loved to cook and never left for work without dinner in the oven so when Dad got home a hot meal would be waiting. Granted, sometimes by the time Dad got home, the food was a little dry and hard to identify, but never the less, dinner was on the table and a balanced meal was served! We would often linger in the kitchen with the smell of her gingerbread baking in the oven eager to devour it before it has a chance to cool.
Being a mother of two boys and a girl –Jeffery, Derek and Susan, Mum had a hard time juggling the demands of us all, but she never complained at her unenviable task, nor did she ever turn anyone away – be it family, friends or local faces, wanting to stop by the house for a quick chat. Unfortunately, we lost Susan in March 2003 following her own health battles.
Her final wish was that rather than flowers, a donation to "Help For Heroes" should be made
